Bluffing & Stealing
A significant part of hold 'em is that of bluffing or stealing. You can bluff a player off a better hand, steal the blinds or steal the pot. Used correctly you will increase your stack and/or winnings over time. Employed incorrectly and the results can be disasterous. If you do not hone this skill and utilize it you will be leaving money or chips on the table that you could have won. It is next to impossible to be a succesful player if you do not bluff & steal as part of your overall game. In tournament play, it is more important in the later stages when blinds and antes can be very substantial. In cash games, it is more relevant to set up a bluff to steal a lucrative pot as the blinds remain static to the game level without climbing. You must also have a read on your opponent(s) and know some of their statistical maneuvers to be more succesful with your bluffs and steals. Using a software tool such as
POKER-EDGE will often supply a good deal of information on your opponent(s) which you can analyze and determine who, when and how much to attempt such a move on them. For more details and specific scenarios click here ->
